“Before I came to Trinity Woods, I despised adoration, and I felt far from God. Then we had adoration the first night at camp, it was only an hour long and I could feel God trying to reach me and I blocked him out because that’s what I was used to. I really didn’t get anything out of it. The next day they had so many priests for confession and I hadn’t gone for a long time. When I walked up to the priest and went through my sins, I could feel each one being lifted off my soul. These two times connect because I went to adoration the next night again. I decided to try and let God in, and I could feel the difference between blocking Him and letting Him in and I felt so different. This year at Camp I learned an incredible lesson not to be afraid to let God into my life and let him change me. Adoration is indescribably my new favorite thing.”
After living on my own during a gap year in Jackson, Wyoming, it became incredibly clear to me how important the Catholic community is in my life. I knew I wanted to give my summer to the Lord by being on mission, but I wasn’t sure what that would look like. When one door closed, the Lord opened another, leading me to Trinity Woods—and He did not disappoint.
Being on the Trinity Team has been one of the biggest blessings of my life. Here, I’ve learned what it means to have a servant’s heart. Whether it’s lifeguarding, washing dishes, or scrubbing toilets, I’ve discovered the joy of serving the Lord by loving others without expecting anything in return.
Through this mission, Trinity Woods has truly changed me. It has opened my heart to loving others in a completely new and deeper way. By stepping outside of myself, I’ve learned how to be a better leader, and I have discovered so much about who I am and who I am called to be in Christ. Waking up each day, I find myself recognizing new ways to see the beauty and goodness of God.
The Holy Spirit has also brought immense healing to my life—mentally, spiritually, and physically. Through the incredible formation, daily Mass, Adoration, the Liturgy of the Hours, and the intentional time I’ve been given to spend with Him here, the Lord has given me a deep peace and taught me to trust Him, even when the future is uncertain.
I am incredibly thankful that God placed me at Trinity Woods this summer. It has truly been one of the greatest blessings of my life.
“A really powerful moment for me at Extreme Faith Camp was definitely adoration. The name of Jesus alone made me break down — because I realized this is the same Jesus I’ve known my whole life, and the same Jesus I want to know for the rest of my life.”
“I came to Trinity Woods frustrated and reluctant, expecting to keep my distance from the others on the team. But the welcome I received from the year round missionaries and team broke through my walls almost immediately. Through challenges and growth, God taught me that my worth comes from being His son, not just from what I do. By summer’s end, my teammates had become infinitely valuable to me—true brothers and sisters in Christ. God transformed my heart, and I’m leaving knowing He’ll keep outdoing Himself.”
“Words cannot properly describe the immense joy, peace, transformation, and fullness of spirit I have experienced on the Trinity Team. You ask what is something I will take away with me into the rest of my life from Trinity Team? My new heart.”
“The best thing of the summer…was bringing God into every moment; morning, evening, night prayer, mass, adoration, spontaneous prayers –they were amazing! I now feel comfortable and confident to bring God into every moment whether it’s full of joy or sorrow!”
